Saudi Arabia's low-cost carrier flynas and Türkiye's flag carrier Turkish Airlines have entered into a comprehensive codeshare partnership, combining flynas' domestic and regional network with Turkish Airlines' global reach. The agreement, announced on 29 July 2026, allows passengers to book multi-leg itineraries on a single ticket with automatic baggage transfers.
Under the codeshare, flynas customers gain access to Turkish Airlines' intercontinental network via Istanbul, connecting to destinations across Europe, North America, Central Asia, and Africa. Turkish Airlines passengers can connect onto flynas' thousands of weekly flights serving Saudi cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina, as well as regional Middle Eastern destinations.
The partnership directly supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 aviation strategy, which aims to expand international air links to more than 250 destinations, handle 330 million annual air passengers, and welcome 150 million annual visits by the end of the decade.
flynas, established in 2007, is the first airline listed on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) and operates thousands of weekly flights. Turkish Airlines, based at Istanbul Airport (IST), serves over 250 global cities across six continents.
A senior Saudi aviation official said: "The codeshare partnership between flynas and Turkish Airlines marks a strategic milestone in expanding Saudi Arabia's international air connectivity. By bridging flynas’ regional network with Turkish Airlines’ global footprint, we are creating seamless travel choices that support our Vision 2030 targets."
Representative leadership from flynas confirmed that strategic international partnerships will remain central to the airline's long-term network growth strategy.
Why it matters
The codeshare reflects a broader industry trend of hybrid alliances between low-cost carriers and full-service legacy airlines. For Saudi Arabia, such partnerships are essential to diversifying its economy away from oil reliance and establishing tourism as a major growth engine. The agreement provides a vital bridge for business travellers, holidaymakers, and religious pilgrims travelling between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye and beyond. By pairing flynas' budget agility with Turkish Airlines' global footprint, the partnership creates budget-friendly fare options for long-distance journeys and reduces connection risk through single-ticket protection.
