Turkish Airlines will expand its Canadian operations from July 2026, adding frequencies on routes from Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Vancouver International (YVR) and Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) to Istanbul Airport (IST).
A new Saturday departure from Istanbul (TK17) and return from Toronto (TK18) will be added to the existing schedule as of July 4–5, 2026, bringing total weekly service to 7 flights. For Vancouver, an additional Sunday flight will be added beginning July 5, 2026, increasing weekly service to 4 frequencies. A new Tuesday frequency on the Montréal–Istanbul route launches July 7, 2026, also bringing weekly service to 4 flights.

- TK18 YYZ–IST: Sat 22:45–12:35+1 (from Jul 5)
- TK75 IST–YVR: Sun 15:00–17:15 (from Jul 5)
- TK76 YVR–IST: Sun 19:10–17:10+1 (from Jul 5)
- TK35 IST–YUL: Tue 15:05–18:10 (from Jul 7)
- TK36 YUL–IST: Tue 20:05–12:25+1 (from Jul 7)
The airline, which serves more countries than any other carrier, will now offer 15 weekly flights between Canada and Istanbul.
Why it matters
For Canadian tour operators and DMCs, the increased capacity from three major gateways improves access to Türkiye and onward connections via Istanbul. The additional frequencies, particularly the new Saturday and Sunday departures, offer greater flexibility for package tour itineraries and group travel. Bedbanks and hoteliers in Istanbul and across Türkiye can expect incremental demand from the Canadian source market, especially during the peak summer season when these additions take effect.
