WebBeds has announced a strategic partnership with UK online travel agent On the Beach to strengthen leisure travel distribution in the UK market. The agreement, announced on 18 February 2026, prioritises European and Mediterranean destinations, as well as other high-demand beach and city markets popular with UK holidaymakers.
Through the collaboration, WebBeds will provide On the Beach with access to its extensive global accommodation portfolio, which includes more than 500,000 properties. The content is delivered via WebBeds' advanced technology platforms, designed to aggregate, optimise and distribute room inventory to a global network of travel buyers through API connectivity and dedicated booking portals for professionals.
On the Beach, which specialises in ATOL-protected beach holidays and city breaks, will broaden its hotel supply through the partnership. Mark Littlefair, Director of Supply at On the Beach, said: "This partnership unlocks even more choice and value for our customers, whether they’re looking for a beach holiday or a city break. WebBeds’ scale and expertise make them a valuable partner as we continue to expand our reach."
WebBeds aims to deepen demand across key destinations and offer its hotel partners more routes to market in a particularly competitive leisure segment. The move consolidates WebBeds’ role as a global marketplace connecting accommodation providers with influential travel sellers.
This agreement follows a comparable deal WebBeds concluded with Jet2holidays, the UK’s leading tour operator, announced on 5 January 2026. That partnership also leverages WebBeds’ international reach of more than 500,000 properties to connect its hotel partners with Jet2holidays’ distribution power and customer base in the UK market, covering Europe, the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and North Africa.
Why it matters
The partnership underscores the growing importance of technology-driven distribution in the UK leisure travel market. By integrating WebBeds' inventory via API and booking portals, On the Beach can offer a wider range of accommodation without significant internal investment. For WebBeds, securing two major UK OTAs in quick succession strengthens its position as a key intermediary between hoteliers and high-volume sellers. The focus on Mediterranean and European city destinations reflects sustained demand from UK travellers for these regions, even as competition among distributors intensifies.
