Several new hotel investments are advancing across Türkiye, spanning Istanbul, Trabzon, and Rize, according to project announcements compiled by Turizm Ekonomi.
Radisson Blu apart hotel in Kartal, Istanbul
Aksoylar Company will build a Radisson Blu hotel in the Kartal Cevizli neighborhood of Istanbul. The Kartal Aksoylar Radisson Blu Apart Hotel Project, originally started as a commercial center in 2019 but halted due to economic reasons, will be developed on a 79-square-meter site. The project will comprise 204 rooms and 32 commercial units.
The building, currently in the rough construction phase, has been converted into an apart hotel project with the aim of generating high profit. The total estimated cost is 1 billion 90 million Turkish Lira.
Kuzuoğlu Group acquires 5-star hotel in Trabzon
Kuzuoğlu Group, a salmon producer operating in Türkiye, has purchased a 5-star hotel in Trabzon for 500 million Turkish Lira. The acquisition is expected to contribute significantly to the city's tourism revenue.
Hasan Kuzuoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said the company purchased a 160-room 5-star hotel in Trabzon. The investment was funded entirely from the company's own resources. The hotel is located in the center of Trabzon, adjacent to valuable investments, the yacht harbor, and the beach project. It is strategically positioned 1 km from the Hagia Sophia Museum and 10 km from Trabzon Airport.
Tuna Ofis Mobilyaları eyes new hotel in Istanbul
Tuna Ofis Mobilyaları, active in home and office furniture, is expanding into tourism and real estate. Nuri Tuna, Vice Chairman of the Board, noted the company has been serving in the tourism sector for four years with the Sofitel Istanbul Taksim Hotel. He said they love the tourism sector and have received positive feedback.
Tuna emphasized that their goal in tourism and hospitality is not just to build a hotel and wait. He said, "In the past, we had the idea of an investment in different regions like Dubai. We are still evaluating alternatives, but we are primarily considering Türkiye. As a location, we are targeting Istanbul."
Dedeman Hotels to open Park Dedeman in Rize
Dedeman Hotels, continuing its growth with consecutive hotel openings, will add a new destination in Rize. The Park Dedeman hotel will be implemented in the Pazar District of Rize. Park Dedeman Rize will feature 88 rooms and 90 bed capacity, developed by İstanbul Murat Publishing at a cost of 95 million Turkish Lira.
Why it matters
The investments signal continued interest in Türkiye's hospitality sector across different segments and geographies. The Radisson Blu apart hotel in Istanbul reflects a trend toward converting stalled commercial projects into higher-yield accommodation, potentially offering a template for similar conversions in urban markets. The Trabzon acquisition by a non-hospitality company indicates that investors from outside the sector are entering the tourism market, drawn by the city's tourism potential and strategic assets such as the yacht harbor and proximity to the Hagia Sophia Museum. Dedeman's expansion into Rize, a less-established destination, points to growing interest in Türkiye's eastern Black Sea region. The planned Istanbul hotel by Tuna Ofis Mobilyaları, which already operates the Sofitel Istanbul Taksim, suggests existing operators are looking to deepen their presence in the country's main urban hub. These projects, collectively, underline a diversified pipeline of hotel development in Türkiye, ranging from budget to upscale segments.
