IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement for Holiday Inn Resort Bodrum West Beach, its second Holiday Inn Resort property in Türkiye, in partnership with Uslu Turizm Insaat Tasimacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. The 460-room resort is expected to open in mid-2026, according to an announcement dated 7 February 2025.

The signing follows the performance of IHG's first Holiday Inn Resort in Bodrum and adds to the company's existing footprint in the country, which comprises 33 open hotels and a further 17 in development. The new property will be located near Turgutreis Marina on the Aegean coast, positioning it within one of the region's most established leisure destinations.

The resort will offer a large pool, sandy beach, spa, bar, and conference area, with views over the Aegean Sea. Its location is intended to serve both international and domestic leisure travellers, with access to yachting and boating opportunities and proximity to the Greek island of Kos.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development for Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the Turgutreis area is one of the most sought-after in Bodrum, benefiting from both international and local leisure demand. The strategic location allows the company to capitalise on growth opportunities by introducing the right brands in locations travellers desire, she added.

Why it matters

The signing underscores IHG's continued investment in Türkiye's leisure segment, a market where the company already operates a substantial portfolio. The addition of a second Holiday Inn Resort in Bodrum signals confidence in the region's sustained appeal to family-oriented and resort-seeking travellers. For tour operators and bedbanks, the 460-room property will add significant inventory in a high-demand coastal destination, with the mid-2026 opening providing a clear timeline for contracting and packaging. The development pipeline of 17 hotels across the country also indicates broader supply growth that will shape distribution strategies in the coming years.
